Random Pictures

I haven't been as good about taking pictures as I should be, but I thought I would post some of the ones I took this past year or so. This one is Rachel, Maclane, and Katie.
Rachel and Maclane playing at Ria's house in the pool. Too much fun!

Will brought Seth this Mask when he came to visit. Seth loves it! He looks tough, right? :)

Here is Katie the lady. She has probably changed the most over the past year. Katie, Rachel, and I are all able to share clothes and stuff. It's kind of fun... until I can't find my stuff.

Rachel needed a good Facebook picture. She's always cute. That's all I can fit for now. Hopefully this year I can do better about taking more pictures. My mom always said that pictures are the only way to stop time. Everyone is growing up so fast that if I blink too long I miss something. lol.

Mother Dear, I love you so...

I was going over my blog and remembering all of the fun things that happened this year and I realized that I had blogged about everybody and their birthday, but I didn't have one for Mom. I think we were staying at your house at the time or something and I didn't have the access I wanted to post the pictures... Soooo.... I thought I would blog today about my mom and how much she has done to make my life wonderful. Everytime I eat oatmeal, or hear a Beatles song I think of my mom. She always had the most wonderful ideas. People would always use Mom's ideas. I remember going swimming every day, and getting a kitten at the beginning of every summer...She loves everyone and always has a lot of people around.

Seth can always find a popcicle at Ria's house. If I counted the times I said "My Mom said...." I would be rich. When I moved to Scottsboro all of the people at church were so excited to be able to have my mom share the things she has learned. She always did, and they still talk about the canning and the things that Maria taught. Don't even get me started about some creamed tacos...... You know I thought they took hours to make. It is my favorite food and I would always pick it for birthday dinners. Scottsboro loves creamed tacos...That actually sounds really good for dinner. Thanks Mom.

I guess we were just a normal little family but there is something about the women in our family that makes us determined to do what we want to do. My mom wanted us to grow up happy and safe. She did such a good job that I had a little trouble flying on my own... I have it down now, and I'm so happy to be so much like you. If anyone tells me I am just like my mom it is a compliment. I hope to be the same to my children. Now, stop crying...lol there's only one word that I can think of right now to end this... SUCKA!!!!!! Top that Mother's Day My Siblings... Just kidding. You all are my life. I love you.

Man, I'm OLD

When your oldest child turns 15, it starts to dawn on you that you're getting quite a bit older than you feel. My little Katie is turning 15!!!!
I remember when she was born like it was yesterday. She was a very pretty baby. Shariana was disappointed that I didn't name her "Chomper" but Katherine fit perfectly.
She has grown so quickly into a very beautiful, talented young lady. She has a way with music that I can't explain, but it is amazing to behold. Some of the funniest stories I have are about Katie, but I promised to be good and not embarass her.

I hope that Katie's 15th year is the best year yet, and that all of her dreams come true. I know she can accomplish great things if she wants to, so I look for great things from her.
I love you Katie! Happy Birthday!

What do You Think This Is? Your Birthday???

I have been so blessed to have 2 dads. When my mom married my step-dad it was probably the best thing she could have ever done for us. He is wonderful. Always funny, caring, honest, and understanding. I'm sure he was a little afraid stepping into the dad role so young, but he did it so well. I cannot thank him enough for all he has done for me and my family.
Rachel named him "chin-pie" because of his fun game he plays with the kids. They run and scream as he chases and tickles them with his whiskers. I remember wanting him to tickle me, but not wanting him to all at the same time. We would laugh until it hurt.

Chin Pie has an amazing ability to create things. He could see something and in his mind, figure out a way to make it beautiful. He always made cars in the sand, and they were so good that the people walking by wouldn't want to destroy them. He is very talented and shares his talents with everyone he knows.

I could not ask for a better dad. He is the best and I love him very much! I hope this Birthday is wonderful and that this year is the best year yet.

My Wish

I was sooooo lucky to get to go see Rascal Flatts in Huntsville on Thursday night.

They are better in concert than they are on CD. It was a dream come true.

The seats were really high up, but it was so fun to see them on the big screen. They sang all my favorites and a couple of new favorites. Concerts just rock!

Sunday Victory

This year I am teaching a group of kids at church that are 3 years old and terribly rowdy. There are a lot of them so it is really tricky to get them to behave. I thought a long time about how I could get them to sit their little bottoms in their chairs and came up with my baby birdie idea.

I made them each a baby birdie and laminated it. Then I used velcro to attach it to their chair. I sent a letter to each of them in the mail telling them that their baby birdie would be waiting on them every Sunday. They would need to be good mommy and daddy birds and sit on their baby to keep it warm.

They LOVED it! It was so cute to see them excited about taking care of their baby birdie. I felt like I had won a war! Maybe the idea will last a while so they can get used to sitting still.

Welcome to our blog!
