Scottsboro Chillala 2010

Rachel is cheering again this year for the Junior High Wildcats. They had pictures this morning so I caught her in her uniform and got a few of my own.
So far it has been a good year cheering. She is co-captain this year and enjoys helping with the 7th grade girls.

They have the annual Wildcats Catwalk (cookout) on August 13th at Trammel Stadium at Collins Elementary. We are excited to go watch the new squad.

Happy Father's Day

I am blessed to have a very good father. He has always been so good to do anything to help me and my family. I remember a lot of fun times with him. He likes to be silly and make us laugh. We would want him to tickle us but we squealed and laughed until we cried when he did. He has been such a gift to our family. He makes my mom happy, he works incredibly hard, he loves and serves people and he loves and serves the Lord. He is a great example of how I want Seth to be one day. Our lives changed when he came and I hope that he knows of my love for him.
Throughout my life I have been blessed with many people who I like to recognize on Father's Day. My dad George, My step-dad Darrin, Milton Kinne who was always papa to my kids...I hope that I have been able to make them proud. They are amazing people and I wish them all a VERY HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Katie in "Grease", Rachel practicing flute, Seth's new lego set

This video is of Katie playing Miss Lynch the teacher

in her school's production "Grease" The play was great!

Please excuse the video taping skills. I kind of had to sneak and do it..

This video is of Rachel practicing her flute for her chair test.

I don't know where they get their talents. I'm always amazed to hear her.

This video is of Seth's new Atlantis lego set. He is big into Atlantis

right now. He always asks me if I think it's real. He has become very

good at putting the sets together. It doesn't take him long at all. Now if

I could get him to keep the pieces off of the floor we would really have something. lol

Ashley- the definition of beautiful

My sister Ashley is the definition of beauty. She has always been a wonderful sister. She is very supportive and loving. She is forgiving to the point of amazement. I wish I had the spirituality she has. Ashley is a great mom. She is very beautiful on the inside and out. I have to say that she is probably the best person I know. We had our arguments as children, but as we have grown up she has become one of my very best friends.
Today is Ashley's birthday! We all love her and wish her a happy birthday and a wonderful Mother's Day. Happy Birthday Beautiful!

"'Dorable" Maclane's Birthday

Maclane is one of my favorite people! She makes me laugh all the time. I love to get to see her and play with her. Her birthday is April 11th. She will be 3.Maclane loves animals, all kinds. She is very smart and can remember everything! She was playing on her horsie at Ria's house.
Maclane was playing with Jasmine at Ria's. She told us that Jasmine was her 3rd best friend.

Here, Ashley, Skyler, and Maclane were posing for pictures right after Maclane's baby blessing.

Of course, being her favorite aunt, I had to include a picture of Adam and I with her. She is like a celebrity in our house. I always smile when I think about her. We are so blessed to have her in our family! She is "dorable!"
Happy Birthday Maclane! I love you!

My Daddy is My Favorite Pal

I am blessed to have 2 Dads. My dad George, who died when I was 6; and my step-dad, Darrin who married my mom and raised us. My dad George is one of my favorite people to think about. Today would have been his birthday. What a beautiful day to remember him on. The weather is perfect!
I was young when he died, but I remember him vividly. He loved me with a love that I can't describe. He took me to work with him and nailed my shirt to the roof when he was roofing. He was a carpenter. I remember a lot of things about him, and certain things always bring back memories. If I hear the song "Mountain Music" by Alabama, I can't help but think of him.

I truly hope I have made him proud. I know he watches over me and smiles. One day I'm sure I will see him in heaven. Maybe we will go fishing...
Happy Birthday!

Random Pictures

I haven't been as good about taking pictures as I should be, but I thought I would post some of the ones I took this past year or so. This one is Rachel, Maclane, and Katie.
Rachel and Maclane playing at Ria's house in the pool. Too much fun!

Will brought Seth this Mask when he came to visit. Seth loves it! He looks tough, right? :)

Here is Katie the lady. She has probably changed the most over the past year. Katie, Rachel, and I are all able to share clothes and stuff. It's kind of fun... until I can't find my stuff.

Rachel needed a good Facebook picture. She's always cute. That's all I can fit for now. Hopefully this year I can do better about taking more pictures. My mom always said that pictures are the only way to stop time. Everyone is growing up so fast that if I blink too long I miss something. lol.

Mother Dear, I love you so...

I was going over my blog and remembering all of the fun things that happened this year and I realized that I had blogged about everybody and their birthday, but I didn't have one for Mom. I think we were staying at your house at the time or something and I didn't have the access I wanted to post the pictures... Soooo.... I thought I would blog today about my mom and how much she has done to make my life wonderful. Everytime I eat oatmeal, or hear a Beatles song I think of my mom. She always had the most wonderful ideas. People would always use Mom's ideas. I remember going swimming every day, and getting a kitten at the beginning of every summer...She loves everyone and always has a lot of people around.

Seth can always find a popcicle at Ria's house. If I counted the times I said "My Mom said...." I would be rich. When I moved to Scottsboro all of the people at church were so excited to be able to have my mom share the things she has learned. She always did, and they still talk about the canning and the things that Maria taught. Don't even get me started about some creamed tacos...... You know I thought they took hours to make. It is my favorite food and I would always pick it for birthday dinners. Scottsboro loves creamed tacos...That actually sounds really good for dinner. Thanks Mom.

I guess we were just a normal little family but there is something about the women in our family that makes us determined to do what we want to do. My mom wanted us to grow up happy and safe. She did such a good job that I had a little trouble flying on my own... I have it down now, and I'm so happy to be so much like you. If anyone tells me I am just like my mom it is a compliment. I hope to be the same to my children. Now, stop crying...lol there's only one word that I can think of right now to end this... SUCKA!!!!!! Top that Mother's Day My Siblings... Just kidding. You all are my life. I love you.

Man, I'm OLD

When your oldest child turns 15, it starts to dawn on you that you're getting quite a bit older than you feel. My little Katie is turning 15!!!!
I remember when she was born like it was yesterday. She was a very pretty baby. Shariana was disappointed that I didn't name her "Chomper" but Katherine fit perfectly.
She has grown so quickly into a very beautiful, talented young lady. She has a way with music that I can't explain, but it is amazing to behold. Some of the funniest stories I have are about Katie, but I promised to be good and not embarass her.

I hope that Katie's 15th year is the best year yet, and that all of her dreams come true. I know she can accomplish great things if she wants to, so I look for great things from her.
I love you Katie! Happy Birthday!

What do You Think This Is? Your Birthday???

I have been so blessed to have 2 dads. When my mom married my step-dad it was probably the best thing she could have ever done for us. He is wonderful. Always funny, caring, honest, and understanding. I'm sure he was a little afraid stepping into the dad role so young, but he did it so well. I cannot thank him enough for all he has done for me and my family.
Rachel named him "chin-pie" because of his fun game he plays with the kids. They run and scream as he chases and tickles them with his whiskers. I remember wanting him to tickle me, but not wanting him to all at the same time. We would laugh until it hurt.

Chin Pie has an amazing ability to create things. He could see something and in his mind, figure out a way to make it beautiful. He always made cars in the sand, and they were so good that the people walking by wouldn't want to destroy them. He is very talented and shares his talents with everyone he knows.

I could not ask for a better dad. He is the best and I love him very much! I hope this Birthday is wonderful and that this year is the best year yet.

My Wish

I was sooooo lucky to get to go see Rascal Flatts in Huntsville on Thursday night.

They are better in concert than they are on CD. It was a dream come true.

The seats were really high up, but it was so fun to see them on the big screen. They sang all my favorites and a couple of new favorites. Concerts just rock!

Sunday Victory

This year I am teaching a group of kids at church that are 3 years old and terribly rowdy. There are a lot of them so it is really tricky to get them to behave. I thought a long time about how I could get them to sit their little bottoms in their chairs and came up with my baby birdie idea.

I made them each a baby birdie and laminated it. Then I used velcro to attach it to their chair. I sent a letter to each of them in the mail telling them that their baby birdie would be waiting on them every Sunday. They would need to be good mommy and daddy birds and sit on their baby to keep it warm.

They LOVED it! It was so cute to see them excited about taking care of their baby birdie. I felt like I had won a war! Maybe the idea will last a while so they can get used to sitting still.

My Favorite Brother

Look at that smile!!!!

My favorite brother's birthday is this week and I've been thinking a lot about him. I remember when he came home from the hospital and when he would cheer for Vanna White on Wheel of Fortune... I remember him letting me fix his hair. I used a LOT of mousse and stuck it all over to one side. We called it his "missionary hair style". He was the cutest boy.

I If I ever want to smile I just think about Will. I can't think about him without smiling. I am so blessed to have such an awesome brother. He is truly amazing. He has such a beautiful family. I can't wait to spend some time with them again.
All my love- Happy Birthday Bill Woob

My Birthday Boy

Seth's birthday is Sunday. He will be 9... I can't believe how time flies. He has grown up so much over the past year and is always surprising me with the things he knows. He is a Gentleman, and insists that he opens the door for his sisters and me.

Seth's hair is getting a little shaggy, but he wants it that way. He likes Legos and Nerf guns.

He always hugs me and tells me I'm "the best mom ever" which makes my day. I remember when he was born like it was yesterday. He was so tiny. He didn't stay tiny long though... His first words were "Go Cart!" they came as he watched a kid ride around our neighborhood. He always made me laugh with the crazy things he would say. When he first went to Sunbeams at church he was frowning really big. I asked him what was wrong. He said, "I just don't want to be a prophet!" He made it through to scouts and I know that soon he will be a Missionary.

Seth is a fantastic kid. He is my best boy. I love him with all of my heart and mean it when I call him my little sugarplum. I hope he has an awesome year as a 9 year old.

Welcome to our blog!
